Most likely the best driving instructor!!! I passed my extended driving test and I had Russell as my driving instructor and he was amazing. Very patient and easy to get along with. After 5 years of driving in a van I’ve acquired some bad habits which Russell quickly and successfully corrected.He is very experienced and a great guy, gave me real world driving advice alongside the knowledge and skills needed to pass the test twice. I had Russell as my driving instructor when I passed my test the first time , unfortunately I had to retake the test as my licence has been revoked . Again - I’ve passed with just one minor mistake.  Russell is an amazing instructor !! I passed with Russell a couple of years ago now and my driving is almost faultless because of his teaching. He helped me with aspects I was struggling with, not letting me get frustrated when I couldn't pick things up instantly.  Russell is a great instructor! Rather than preparing you to solely pass the test he makes sure you truly are a confident driver. Would highly recommend.  

 I passed first time, but it wasn't because he taught me only to pass the test but taught me how to drive properly as well as making me a confident driver on the road when coming into spontaneous obstacles that occur in every day driving. Also the lessons were great fun, it was a very good environment in the car and any nerves i had were calmed. His teaching was clear, precise and well structured and he was very easy to talk to.  

 Rusell Waterman has been my driving instructor for the last 3 months and with him I passed my driving test at the first attempt. He makes you feel comfortable whilst learning, assuring you that you are not the only one with your concerns or doubts, and when it comes to correcting your driving, he is tough but fair. This goes a long way, making you very aware of what stage you are at, so you can feel confident when the time comes to take your driving test. I am very pleased with my experience with him and I highly recommend him for anyone who is serious about learning the right way to drive safely in this country

I just passed today and would be totally fine with driving cross country at this point. Motorways? We did A Roads. Complex intersections & large roundabouts? Roundabout in Edgware and Mill Hill Circus says I'm ready to rumble. He's patient, knows his stuff in every which way, is a professional (not just some driver who occasionally teaches) and (bonus points) and he's a laugh. This helps when your spending 2 hours in the car driving around together and trying not to hit anything. 

 Russell helped me pass first time and with ease. Not only is he a fantastic instructor but also a pleasure to share the car with for 20+hours. Highly recommended!! 

 Russell is a very competent and experienced, fully qualified driving instructor, with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of driving and the driving test. He balances DVLA level instruction, with anecdotal references that help you to understand exactly what you're being taught. I would highly recommend Russell as your tutor. You won't be disappointed

 Where to start with this review. Russell is, without a shadow of doubt, in a league of his own not only when it comes to being a driving instructor but also being a first class man! His consistent anecdotes and sharp refined humour, coupled with musings on politics and fantastic music taste made what could be dull two hour drives into the highlight of my day. Knowledgable to the extreme when it comes to driving and it's safe to say he knows the streets of Milhill and Hendon better than any black cab driver! A truly fantastic bloke and I enjoyed every drive we went on from day one when he made me feel incredibly comfortable doing something which traditionally is approached with a certain fear and worry. Having passed my test I feel I can drive with confidence however I hope to keep in touch to ensure my driving remains as safe as can be, and to make sure my improved risk awareness remains!

 Excellent, Incredibly helpful, professional, patient and systematic. Absolutely excellent driving instructor. I was nervous and crochety, and also much older than most learners, and he handled me very well. I had struggled in the past with driving lessons, but I passed within just a few months of my first lesson with him.  I have been learning with Russell since October and have passed the first time recently. He is not only an excellent instructor, but also became my friend. Russell is very patient (I am a veeery dificult person to deal with), the resources he provides are fantastic. He not only gives the basic info, but also sends lots of extra. I had so little faith in myself, but he made me very confident behind the wheel. Every lesson was different, Russell's attention to details on the road and with other drivers made me think twice before I made the same mistake. His continous reminding about rules made me remember easier. Russell is very patient, calm and very understanding. He is always on time and if happens he is running couple of minutes late he sends a text. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND RUSSELL TO ALL PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LEARN TO DRIVE.  I had several lessons with Russell and passed from the first attempt with only two minors. He is very flexible, patient and helpful. I liked how he helped me to work on every minor mistake consistently and provided feedback in useful and not criticising way. And agreeing to have my 3 months old baby in the back seat throughout the lessons was an immediate winner.

 I began learning to drive at the end of June, and have passed my test first time in the beginning of December, including a break in lessons due to lockdown.  I looked at many instructors and eventually decided on Russell due to his amazing reviews. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to teach me such an important thing. He is really easy to get on with, instantly makes you feel comfortable, has a great sense of humour and always has a story to tell that helps you learn what to do and what not to do on the roads. He has loads of helpful insights, tips and tricks to help you learn and remember everything. He also doesn’t just get you through your test but truly challenges your driving ability like when he took me through Covent Garden in rush hour to train me to cope under pressure and to keep my observation high enough to cope with a random bike or person appearing from nowhere. If I ever made a mistake, Russell would explain everything to me and take me through it until I completely understood. I ended up passing first time after a fairly intensive 2 months and with any other instructor I don’t think I that would have been possible. 

 Learning to drive from Russel was a great experience. Compared to previous instructors I had there is a massive difference. He is a very patient, dedicated teacher with a high standard of communication skills. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wishing to pass there.

 I Would highly recommend Russell for all your driving lessons and he is a very experienced driving instructor. I never felt too pressured when learning with him, as he makes lessons both fun and relaxed whilst preparing you at a high standard. He also provides excellent resources for both the practical and theory test. I would definitely recommend. 

 Russel was such a great teacher. He helped me pass my test first time and prepared me for driving on my own. He has made me a very confident driver and taught me more than I needed to know. I couldn't recommend more. 

 I started my driving lessons being incredibly nervous but after a few lessons with Russell I started feeling much more confident and even started looking forward to my lessons! I just took my test and passed first time, which I couldn't have done without Russell's patience, encouragement and amazing teaching. Thoroughly recommend him to anyone about to start lessons or coming back to it after a bit of time. Particularly if you're nervous about it like I was! 

 Don't waste your time and money going anywhere else! I had three other instructors over the years but never felt brave enough or ready to apply for the test - passed yesterday on my first attempt. Russell was the difference. Patient, structured lessons, varied routes and roads and definitely dragged me out of my comfort zone with a drive into central London. Good habits and safety is drilled into you and he's a sound and entertaining bloke at the same time! Thank you!!

 I think Russell is an excellent driving instructor, with lots of experience and I would highly recommend him. He was patient when I first started and it was taking me a while to get the hang of the controls. The 2 hour lessons felt quite a lot to begin with but when I progressed I found it really useful to be able to focus for longer times and the eventual test seemed nicely short in comparison! Russell's lessons had an excellent balance between instructing me on how to pass my driving test and on being a safe driver after I'd passed. He took me on a great variety of roads (when I was ready) including motorways and driving through Central London. He clearly is a very experienced instructor. I passed first time!

 My Instructor Is A Miracle Worker My instructor, Russell Waterman, has been a true miracle worker in teaching me how to drive in the UK. I'm originally from the USA and it has been difficult learning how to " correctly" drive in this country. On top of that, I barely knew how to drive manual. Within the first few minutes of our meeting Russell quickly assessed the best way to teach me in as short amount a time as possible in order for me to pass my practical exam. He knew how to push me just enough to ensure I learned and retained all that Russell was teaching me about driving in the UK. He was right and I am now a prouder owner of a UK driving license. Definitely worth every pound I paid for the lessons and Russell deserves the 5 star rating.  

 I had two driving instructors before Russell and I'd say he was the best. He clearly knows what the examiners look for, what the roads in the area are like, best practices for staying safe and the details of signage and the Highway Code very well. He's also careful to work out exactly why you've done something wrong so he can give the appropriate advice. He's very friendly and while it took me a few lessons to get used to how much he talks while you're driving, he gives plenty of great advice in the process; remembering some tips he'd said which seemed like minor points at the time definitely helped me during my test!

 Russell was an extremely patient instructor, and was very good in customising the routes to focus on things I needed to improve. He was also very flexible in terms of times available including late evenings and weekends to accommodate my schedule, overall great job in helping me pass the exam and sharing some good stories in the process 

 As a 30+ learner having had lessons at age 18 and 25 but never gone all the way to test stage, I wanted this time to be the last so was determined to pass. I needed an instructor who would encourage me, be flexible with my busy work schedule and be sensitive to an 'older' learner! Russell was all of these. From my initial email correspondence with Russell, he put me at ease. He assessed my capabilities and we even discussed how I learn and my concerns. He gives clear instructions and takes time to discuss things in detail, using examples, sketches or diagrams. He references the Highway Code and provided access to free online theory training. He was supportive through the theory test learning and helped me apply this to my driving. As we got closer to my test, he worked with me on the things I felt less confident on and showed me tips to use to give me confidence on the road. Russell doesn't just teach you how to pass the test, he teaches you how to drive well from day one and has a really high standard. It helps that he is very patient and a has a good sense of humour - he even made me smile on days when I was in a bad mood or frustrated with my efforts. Overall I would highly recommend Russell if you want to be a good driver and enjoy the process!

 Russell has been a great driving instructor I've had 2 or 3 and by far he is the best he isn't like a robot like the rest of the driving instructors He treated you like a normal human and I had great Time doing the lessons and not beung nervous what most people do
