The two cars at the front of both queues have made the mistake of stopping after they’ve passed the white stop line because they saw the repeater traffic light turn red.
If a large vehicle comes from the right and want to turn left, the reason the stop line is so far back is to give them room to swing around the corner on these narrow roads. A bus or a lorry will have the front of their vehicle on the other side of your road for at least two car lengths to get around the corner, but this Mini would completely block them.
The white van stopped correctly behind the line.
Highway Code Rule 176
You MUST NOT move forward over the white line when the red light is showing. Only go forward when the traffic lights are green if there is room for you to clear the junction safely or you are taking up a position to turn right.
