Before starting to use a theory app you should read The Highway Code and Know Your Traffic Signs. The theory test is based on these, and even the best theory apps only have access to 700-800 questions that the DVSA publish, however the DVSAs theory bank has thousands of questions. Many people get caught on the real test when they come across questions they never saw on their apps. If they’d have read and understood the Highway Code and learned their traffic signs and road markings then they would have had a much higher chance of passing and a better understanding of how to follow the rules of the road when they drive.
